Category: Poster Design
Tools: Photoshop, InDesign
Contribution: Individual Project
Brief
The aim of the poster is to raise the awareness of students who live in a bad renting condition to get support from government website to know their rights.
My concept is “Unwanted Flatmate”, to visualize the poor living condition in two different art directions to communicate with the target audience.
Design Outcome
Reflection
I’ve learnt how use creative process to express the message to the audiences and get their emotion echoing back through the Ihi Wehi Project.
A well-designed poster should let the audiences to understand the research easily and hear the promoting easily.
The first thing I’ve learned from the course is the topic research, I chose student poverty as my topic and scaled it down to more detailed aspect that focusing on bad shared renting condition of tertiary students.
The Pictionary and random
input-word/metaphor are very good way to associate the image with type, the only negative part from these is I sometimes feel hard as a foreigner that lack of culture acknowledgement, in future I may need to train myself with more reading and exploring.
I’ve created my strong image, facts and call of action quickly but struggled for the headline for quite a while, finally decided the main concept will be “Unwanted Flatmate” after discussing with Fay and Matt.
The rhetoric strategy used in my final two posters are juxtaposition and satire. I realized different visual language
may create a very different emotional reflect and I thought that’s another important lesson I learned from this course.
